Should I get on birth control for my periods?

My periods are kinda heavy and they last forever! I also have a lot of pain before I’m actually on..should I talk to my mom about wanting to get on it?? I’m only 15 goin on 16 soon does that matter?

Yes, you should go with your mom to see a GYN.
I have been taking birth control pills to regulate my period since I was 12. My period use to last for 3 months, and they were heavy. no lie.
He or she will put you on a pill, that you will be on for about 6 months, unless the pill does work, then you will stay on longer. I went threw about 3 different pills before they found the one that actually worked for me. I started with Yasmine, and now I am on Necon 777.
Just to let you know they will feel sick. You will be naucious, and drink orange juice will bother you even more because of the acid in it. The symptoms will last about a week or two, but you will be find.
