If he sleeps with no socks on he’ll have a cold the next morning. If we go somewhere and come back home late and he cold have a coat and gloves on he will still be sick the next day.

I’m no doctor. But what about those helpful bacteria drinks like Yakult? Would they help?

A WBC of 3,800 may be due to a viral type of illness. If this # has been that way for some time, and he gets ill often, be sure to have him evaluated soon by your Health Care Provider. Good Luck…….

I dont know how old your son is. But if he is at least two years old. Go to VitaminShoppe, and get him Vitamin C. He needs a good amount of vitamin C in his body. This vitamin helps fight off colds. Low white blood cells, makes his immune system weak.
But, go to that shop and look in the childrens section! their vitamin C intake is a bit different. Too much can cause the runs. But nothing bad.
Make sure he washes his hands when he comes in the house with soap and water, before, he puts anything in his mouth make sure his hands are clean. Carry hand sanitizer with u while u both are out and not near a sink.
Have him eat lots of cultured yogurt. The “aciddophilus” in the yougurt not only helps keep a healthy tummy, but it also boost the immune system.
Make sure he eats lots of vegies, and fruits. Junk food is a no no for all kids, but espceially for him. Once in a while, at Birthday parties and maybe when u rent a movie. But, not everday!
If u have company coming over, ask them if anyone is sick or been sick in the last couple of days. It may be rude, but I do it all the time, cuz I have a 2year old and if her friends are sick, I tell their parents to come back when they are feeling better.
I live in Chicago right now, but plan on moving to FLorida, for the warmer winters. Winters are bad, and theres more sickness going around.
Well, I’m sorry u both are going through this. I hope this info helped u. Take care and good luck.

You might check out the link below. I looked at it and it seems to have lots of good information about boosting immune systems.

Along with other vitamins, give him a vitamin E supplement. Vitamine E may help boost the immune system.

Didn’t your doctor tell you tell you what to feed him? The doctor knows best. Good nourishing foods. Good choices and variety. A doctor had to check it and tell you if was low. Follow what he says to fix the problem.

When my older son was very small, he just KEPT getting colds and such. Finally, our doctor figured out that he needed gamuglobulin, and after treatment, he was much healthier. You could ask your doctor about that.

You, yourself, cannot increase your son’s white count. Since you know what it is, I can assume that he’s been seen by a doctor who ordered the blood test. There is a reason why he has a low white count.
Madame, SURELY this is something that was discussed with you by his doctor. I can’t imagine why you would look to Yahoo! Answers for information and advice when your son has a doctor you should be talking to. Please, call him or her.
