What do you think of this business idea? How easy/hard would it be to sell ad space?

Imagine an 8 page+ (free newspaper) that is distributed in 10s-100s of place. Ad space is $40 weekly for the smallest ad, which is 3×3″. Ad space can be used for publicity, coupons, event announcements etc. In a city of 200k, 600k copies would be distributed to gas stations, fast food locations, bus stations etc.

There are brief editorials throughout the paper to keep a reader glued/interested. The weekly print bill would be appx $700. 63 3×3 ad’s can fit in an 8 pg paper.

What do you think? I’m thinking about buying a franchise of one of these companies at a modest price of $8.5k. Would this be easy to sell? I think it’s CHEAP advertising compared to listing in the newspaper, and more copies are distributed.
All editorial, graphics, layout etc is done by the corporate office. My job is to sell, sell, sell.

What trends in education are beneficial and which ones are not?

Is the TAKS test in public schools doing it’s job? Is bilingual education working and should all students learn a foreign language before graduation?

There is no right or wrong answer. Its an open forum, though I would prefer the opinions of those out of high school.

What jobs do you do and what qualifies you?

Hi, I’m thinking of going to University and I’d just like to throw this question out there to people who might answer me. What do you do for work, do you like it, what is your starting salary, and what did you do to get the job (university, experience ect..)

How does giving a house back to lender affect credit?

I transferred out of state 1 1/2 years ago with my job. I had no time to sell it and now it is scheduled for foreclosure. One option the mortgage company gave me was to list it with a realtor or give it back to them. If I give the house back to the lenders, how does that show up on my credit? How does it affect my score? And how hard will it be for me to purchase a home in my new state?

They won’t let me make payment arrangements since I’m not occupying the house and I can’t afford to pay in full $15,000 they’re asking.

I only worked at this job for one day, and didnt include in my tax refund?

I didn’t realize what I did until after I mailed my refund off?

but anyways I only worked at this job for one day and on the W-2 it said the feds only withheld $2.80…..big deal right?

well whats the worst that can happen?

will i just not get that $2.80?
or can I get in trouble for not including it in my refund?

I mean, with all my other jobs and stuff, my refund came out to $335.50(so i dont owe any money, i get money back)

so as long as i dont get fined or anything, im good.

i mean i could live without that $2.80…

my family said as long as I DON’T OWE any money back, I will be fine, and the worst thing that could happen, is that I just wouldn’t get that $2.80 back

is this true?

thanx

and out of curiosity, will the IRS even find out that I didnt include that job, Like how do they know?

What can you tell me about home ownership?

I recently started looking into buying a house and renting it out to tenants so that they can pay for my mortgage. I’m still a college student and am 20 years old right now. I know real estate is a good investment, but I don’t know if this is the right time. I will have a job that pays me about $300 per month, but the monthly rates of the condos I was looking at are between $900-$1100 per month. They were really nice, but I couldn’t help bu get the feeling that the salesman was trying to pull the wool over my eyes.

Here’s what I’d like to know: Why would he tell me I could put zero down? Do you think buying a house and then renting it out is a good strategy? What should I know about home ownership? What are the risks?
