How to deal with controlling mother who is unhappy I am pregnant?

My husband and I are in our mid 20’s. We have been together for 5 years and married for 2. We finished college, bought a house and have careers that we are very happy with.
33 CommentsI am 7 weeks pregnant with our first child, we planned this baby and we are so happy to be starting out family.
We announced my pregnancy at Christmas to my parents. My father seemed happy about our baby news, but my mother just said, “Oh, congratulations.” and was not happy nor excited to find out we are expecting her first grandchild.
My mother is very controlling, she told me when I should marry (at 28), when I should have children (after 30) and so on. She was pissed I married when we wanted and she is pissed I got pregnant when we wanted.
How to deal with controlling mother who is unhappy I am pregnant? She is never happy with any of the great decisions I have made! Since I didn’t follow the life schedule she set for me, she is going to be bitter about my baby.
Any advice?

i have posted on here b4 me and my bf have been together alomost 4 yrs iam now 4 months pregnant i live in nj and he is in college in delaware iam 20 he is 19 going to be 20 in feb, we talked about aboration and adoption many of times. let me add that my family disowned me not cause of the pregnancy just cas they **** and on top of that iam sorta homeless , i stay with my sister and her dad in a 1bedroom apt. ive suddenly started to get scared about keeping the baby cas i dont even have a stabile place to live and the babies dad is in the different state , i dunt kno what to do iam so scared and alone, the babys dad doesnt want me to go to welfare cas then they might go after him for child support but he already puts all his work checks in the bank for the baby so they have no reason to go after him right ? i need any advice anyone has about getting help to keep my baby cas i dont beleive in aboration and i cant give my baby up for adoption . advice about welfare will help alot

How easy is it to get pregnant if you are breastfeeding?

I recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy and am breastfeeding. I plan to breastfeed until he is about one year. I know the hormone prolactin(released when breastfeeding) is supposed to prohibit your menstrual cycle but also know of people getting pregnant when breastfeeding. I don’t necessarily want to get pregnant again, but don’t believe in birth control, so basically, I was just wandering how easy it is to get pregnant when breastfeeding or if it is a rare circumstance that one would get pregnant when breastfeeding. Any experience or logical/factual answers would be appreciated and where information like this can be found would be appreciated too!!!

Me n my boyfriend just had *** and he busted in me. And I don’t understand the whole 14 day thing only day you can get pregnant in a month. How long do you have to wait till you know your pregnant? What’s the 14 day of your ovualtion mean?

is it normal to have irregular periods after taking the morning after pill?

i took the morning after pill on december 1st, got my period about 5 or 6 days later, and i havent had my period since…im usually regular as clock work. Im very worried as a few days after my period finished i had ***…he did pull out, and i know thats not exactly the safest form of contraception. Now im wondering am i pregnant or has the morning after pill messed up my menstrual cycle a bit.

when i got pregnant, it was a mistake and i cant really stand him either sumtimes! I religiously dont believe in abortions! i love to make my mother happy but at the same time im trying to learn to have my own opinion and own mind but its very hard when you’re a people-pleaser! I have been very stressed over this and dont know how to tell my mother that it is his! Everyone please feel free to speak your mind!

What medical conditions would cause someone to look 7-8 months pregnant?

I don’t want to ask someone who I know if she’s pregnant in fear that she isn’t and it happens to just be fat or some sort of medical condition. Is is possible to just be fat in the belly and not have fat arms legs and face? I’m sure we’ll find out in 3-4 months if she looks the same…but the curiosity is getting to us. Do you think we should just ask when the baby is due?

19 weeks pregnant, bleeding and backpain. Please help?

I am 19 weeks pregnant , this is my first pregnancy , last night i had back pain and in the morning I was bleeding, there were stains on my gown. Bleeding has stopped since then.Bleeding was light to moderate. No abdominal cramps or pain.This is first time i noticed bleeding since being pregnant. I can feel fetal movements. I asked my mother about bleeding , it may be due to excess of heat. I have an appointment with doctor tommorow. I am really worried . Please help me????
